My good friend Yeako took me to a New Years Concert presented by Kyoto Women’s University on the shores of the beautiful Lake Biwa.
The programme started with two sopranos, a tenor and a children’s choir. They sang without any backing music and it was all very beautiful. I think they had something to do with the Otani Tu Buddhist University,
Next music with a brass orchestra composed by Hiroshi Ohguri.
Interval was followed by songs from the Sound of Music- sung in Japanese of course.
The concert ended with the traditional Radetzky March complete with clapping .
I had a wonderful time. Thank you Yaeko.
I was the only non Japanese in the concert hall
